Parts therapy is a therapy used to help clients resolve inner conflicts. Therapists across many fields have used similar techniques for years, based on the idea that we all have various personality parts (also called ego parts, selves, sub personalities and many more. The late Charles Tebbetts based his parts therapy on Paul Federn’s work. He gradually developed it into a “client centred approach” and then started to use deep hypnosis to help clients resolve their inner conflicts. Roy Hunter then went on to update the work of Charles Tebbetts many years after been taught by the man himself..
His client centered approach is based on the concept that the client’s inner mind can resolve inner conflicts when the therapist’s acts as a mediator and asks the right questions and solves the problem
eg… for weight loss…. , one part of you wants to lose weight and another part of you needs the comfort of food /over eating
Almost every person has at one time or another experienced an inner conflict that has stopped them successfully attaining important goals. Therapists and Counsellors often use proven techniques to help their clients to change undesired habits and (or) to achieve personal and professional goals. But it was found that clients were still going back to old habits because of strong inner conflicts. Increasing numbers of therapist’s around the world are now discovering the benefits of parts therapy and its variations to help clients get past personal barriers. Parts therapy or one of its variations can often help clients resolve inner conflicts even after clients don’t respond to more traditional techniques. The client centered approach draws out the client’s own ability to resolve inner conflicts. This variation was adopted and mastered by Roy Hunter.
Both Jennifer and Keith were trained and certified in parts therapy by Roy Hunter
